The way Boveda humidification bags work is based on the fact that salts can regulate humidity, resulting in a certain level of relative humidity (RH). Boveda has taken care to make this effect accessible to everyone and usable for every type of container.
The Boveda bags are filled with a natural salt-water mixture. Through the principle of osmosis, they release or absorb pure water vapor to their environment. This is because the salt-water mixture in in the Boveda packs responds to relative humidity by automatically absorbing or releasing pure water vapor through a special membrane as soon as the humidity deviates from a predefined level.
What is the difference between 58% and 62% RH?
Depending on personal taste, 58% or 62% RH provides an optimal environment for curing and storing the crop. One or more bags are simply placed in the storage container as well.
Which size do I need?
The XS packs (4g) will dry up to 14 grams of the crop. With the 8-gram boveda packs can dry up to 28 grams of the crop. The 67-gram packs can be used to dry up to 450 grams, and the XXL packs (320g) can be used to dry up to 2.3 kg.
Can you recharge Boveda packs?
No. Once the bag dries out, you simply replace it with a new one. A bag lasts for about 3-4 months.
Boveda Instructions:
The application of the Boveda Curing Packs is very simple. Depending on the desired humidity (58% or 62%) a Boveda Humidipak together with the flowers in the jar give. The large pack (67 g) can hold up to 450 g of leaves, while the XXL pack (320 g) is designed for larger humidors and lasts up to 6 times longer. The average duration of use of the Humdipaks is 2-3 months before they need to be replaced. The Boveda Butler Smart Sensor, which is also available, provides reliable and precise information about the humidity and temperature in the jar and can be conveniently controlled via the associated Boveda app. The Jars should be stored in an absolutely light-protected place at a temperature between 17 and 22 centigrade.
