This Hungarian chilli variety is quite productive and very decorative with its many round fruits. As the Cherrybomb cherry pepper does not grow that big, it can be cultivated well in a pot and after most of the fruits have ripened, it can be moved from outside to inside on the windowsill. The tasty, almost spherical fruits can be filled well with cream cheese / homemade pastes or pickled. Since the individual pods have quite different degrees of heat, they offer a particularly varied pleasure when eaten.
Germination and cultivation
To get these varieties to germinate, you should offer them an environment with a temperature between 20 and 28 °C. A heated greenhouse is ideal for this. Whether you pre-germinate the seeds in two layers of kitchen roll or let them grow directly in soil is entirely up to you. When you place the seedlings in pots, you should use a well-fertilised and airy soil and make sure that the water does not accumulate. Chilli plants need a lot of sun for their development and certain minimum temperatures for the ripening of the fruits. Therefore, place them in a suitable spot where they get at least 6-8 hours of sun and plant them in pots rather than flower pots. This makes it easier to bring them indoors in early autumn on days with temperatures below 12 °C - so the fruits can still ripen despite the sometimes long ripening period.
