An Undemanding Beauty - The Desert Rose
The desert rose, which comes from the steppe regions of Africa, is a real eye-catcher and grows over four meters high in its native country. Like most succulents, it is quite undemanding when it comes to care and soil, although it does enjoy a sunny and warm location. The desert rose forms a conspicuously thick stem and bears magnificent pink flowers in summer. In Africa, the sap from the roots and stems is used to make arrow poison for hunting, among other things.
Nile Lily
Nile lilies are not only extremely beautiful, but also particularly undemanding when it comes to soil and location. Although they appreciate a sunny location, they also thrive magnificently in partial shade. It forms slender leaves about 70 cm long, its flower stems often grow up to 1 meter long. Its dense umbels consist of many individual flowers that shine in bright blue.
Dwarf Pomegranate
Unlike the normal pomegranate, this variety is good for growing in large pots and tubs. It only grows to about one meter high, is quite fond of flowering and even forms small pomegranates. In summer, it bears orange-red flowers for weeks between its small light green leaves and enjoys a sunny spot.
