Automatic irrigation systems

There are many ways to irrigate your grow in a growbox or growroom. AutoPot, for example, offers fully automatic, powerless irrigation. In drip irrigation systems, which work with pressure, the amount of water is determined by the size of the drippers and the time.

For this purpose, the water supply is switched on at intervals either at the tap or at the pump of a tank. At the beginning of the irrigation system, a drain valve and a filter should always be installed. The valve maintains the pressure in the system so that when it is switched on, all the other drippers work at the same time. The filter protects the drippers from clogging. Flexible set-ups are possible from the filter onwards. For micro irrigation with drippers, a pressure reducer should always be installed. The working pressure should be 1 - 2.5 bar, depending on the size of the system. The pressure coming out of a tap is usually 3.5 - 4.5 bar, which is too much for drinking water irrigation.
Next comes the installation pipe in the form of PE tubes (usually 16, 20 or 25mm in diameter). These PE hoses can be laid in any way and branched out using T-connectors. An end connector is placed at the end, making the system tight. (Alternatively, a adapter can be used to start directly with micro-smokes). Now either drops or capillaries can be mounted directly on the main line or another system can be installed with micro hoses 4x6 mm. Using a hole punch, the appropriate holes are punched into the PE tubes and drip heads, capillaries or start connectors are inserted. The 4x6mm micro tubing is attached to the start connector and routed to the plants with 4x6mm fittings. A dripper follows at the end of each line.

Tip: The 4x6mm micro hoses are used in almost all common irrigation systems from many manufacturers. Existing systems can be easily expanded or defective parts replaced. AutoPot systems also use the 6mm and 16mm pipes.
