Germination and Growing:
The seeds of this plant need temperatures between 22 and 25° to germinate. Until germination, the seeds should always be kept slightly moist, regardless of whether you pre-germinate them or germinate the seeds directly in or on growing soil. It is generally helpful to use a heated mini-greenhouse to increase the germination rate and to provide the seedlings with a favourable climate for their first growth phase. After about 3 to 5 weeks you should be able to spot the first seedlings.
Healing for the Skin With Aloe Vera
When it comes to its effect on our skin, the juice of aloe vera is a real miracle cure! The slightly antiseptic, gel-like liquid helps scratches heal more easily, soothes itchy mosquito bites and greatly improves regeneration after sunburn. To extract the healing juice, all you have to do is cut off a leaf. Since aloe vera is a succulent, it likes a sunny, dry location in a pot. It will survive the winter indoors without any problems, and in the summer you can place it in full sun. However, you must first accustom it to the intense UV light in partial shade, otherwise the leaves will burn. Basically, the aloe vera develops beautiful large flowers, but in our latitudes it is rather difficult to get it to flower.
